The first race at Daytona brought a battle against Ferrari, Matra, Chevron, Lola and of course a large number of American and European GT-cars. Brian Redman was nominated for both cars No.1 and No.2 sharing No.1 with Jo Siffert and joining the sister car with Pedro Rodriguez and Leo Kinnunen. After 24 hours the No.2 car finished first, 45 laps ahead of the No.1 Porsche 917 at an average of 184.859 kph.
