The 500cc Motorcycle World Championship of 1966 was the great battle between Honda's Mike 'the Bike' Hailwood and 'Ago Nazionale' Giacomo Agostini with the legendary MV Agusta. The battle of the giants reached its peak at the 8th round at the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. Mike Hailwood's incredible race at an average of 165.939 km/h was a milestone in TT history with Ago finishing second on the MV. T-Shirt Jarno Saarinen The Flying Finn, 250cc World Champion 1972

Jarno Saarinen was probably one of the most talented motorcycle racers of all times. Starting his road racing career on a 125cc Puch in 1968 he bought a 250cc Yamaha for the 1969 season. This was the beginning of a unique career which resulted in a 3rd place in the 250cc World Championship of 1971 behind Phil Read and Rodney Gould. In 1972 he became simply unbeatable winning the World Championship title of the 250cc class for Yamaha ahead of Renzo Pasolini and Rod Gould.

When he started for Yamaha in 1973 both in the 250cc and 500cc class he was expected to break the dominance of the four-stroke MV Agusta armada of Giacomo Agostini and Phil Read. After 500cc victories at Le Castellet and Salzburg he lead the Championship when they came to Monza.

The 250cc race was started despite warnings that there was oil on the track. This carelessness caused the tragic mass crash in lap one with many riders being injured and Jarno Saarinen and Renzo Pasolini loosing their lives. "The Flying Finn" had died long before he was able to prove his full talent. Until today Jarno Saarinen is named in one breath with Mike Hailwood as probably best motorcycle racer ever.

"The Flying Finn" is a shirt design to commemorate one of motor racing history's greatest talents ever and Finnlands first racer on two wheels to become World Champion. Quality three color silk screen print made in Germany on a top quality 180g Jersey 100% cotton shirt. Machine washable and very durable. Colour: white.

T-Shirt Renzo Pasolini

At the end of the 1960s Benelli seemed to be the only four-stroke competition for the famous MV Agusta and Giacomo Agostini. The well engineered four cylinder from Pesaro was 350cc Vice World Champion in 1968 with Renzo Pasolini and the last 250cc four-stroke World Champion in 1969 with Australian Kel Carruthers. Italian Renzo Pasolini wrote the final successful pages of Benelli's racing history with three second places at the German Sachsenring, at Assen and Brno in the 1970 350cc World Championship before the FIM reduced the number of cylinders in the 250cc and 350cc classes giving way to the new era of two-stroke domination.

This classic design is a homage both to Benelli's 100th anniversary in 2011 and the unforgotten Renzo Pasolini who lost his life in the tragic Monza crash on May 20th, 1973 with Jarno Saarinen.Benelli green top quality 180g Jersey 100% cotton shirt. Mashine washable and very durable. Multi color silk screen print made in Germany.

T-Shirt Prova 350cc 6-cilindri

Top quality shirt, 100% cotton, 180g Jersey, colour: red. Durable silk screen print and machine washable. In the 1960s MV Agusta developped the secret project of a 6-cylinder 350cc four-stroke racer to compete against the strong 6-cylinder Honda and the new two-stroke threat by Yamaha and others. A phantom was born and the prototype was tested by works drivers Agostini and Bergamonti. But after Honda had withdrawn from Grand Prix racing the 3- and 4-cylinder MVs seemed the better choice to beat the two-strokes so the 6-cylinder 350cc was never raced in a Grand Prix. But this prototype certainly left its tales and misteries though it never overcame the prova stadium!
